The role of agriculture in substainable development: An economic growth perspective

This research aims to studying the the role of the Agricultural Sector in Sustainable Development and its contribution in Economic Growth in Algeria. The results of the co-integration test according to the Bounds Test indicated a co-integration relationship between the study variables: GDPG, AGVA, AGIMP, AGEXP, FEX and, INDVA, we find that 91% of the real GDP growth changes are explained by independent variables. the results of estimating long-term relationship has shown that the rate of value-added growth in the agricultural sector impact is positive and statistically significant on GDP growth, but all of the imports of agricultural raw materials rate and the rate of food exports had a negative impact, but all of the imports of agricultural raw materials rate and the rate of food exports had a negative impact, but agricultural raw materials exports did not have a statistically significant effect- In contrast the results of estimating the short- term relationship showed the presence of a positive impact and statistically significant rate of value-added agricultural sector growth, but it is weak compared to the impact of the industrial sector, But for the impact of agricultural raw materials exports, it has been a positive impact.
