Abstract

This paper investigates the impact of the agricultural and industrial sectors on economic growth in Algeria from 2000 to 2023. The study employs an Autoregressive Distributed Lag (ARDL) model for econometric analysis, using value added from the agricultural sector and value added from the industrial sector as independent variables, and gross domestic product (GDP) as the dependent variable. The results indicate that both the agricultural and industrial sectors play a significant role in the Algerian economy due to the enormous potential that Algeria possesses. The Bound Test results confirm a long-run cointegrating relationship between the variables in Algeria during the period 2000-2023. The results also indicated a positive and direct relationship between value added in both the agricultural and industrial sectors and GDP in Algeria during the period 2000-2023.
