Tax evasion and its effects on development: A systematic review of current issues and future solutions

This paper provides a comprehensive review of the literature on tax evasion and economic development in emerging economies, examining how tax evasion undermines governments' ability to finance public services and foster sustainable economic growth. The study adopts a systematic review approach, synthesizing academic research and relevant data on tax evasion and its implications for economic development in emerging economies. The findings reveal critical trends, challenges, and opportunities in fiscal management, underscoring the urgency of strengthening tax policies in contexts marked by high informality and corruption. The paper highlights the significant barriers governments face in implementing efficient tax collection strategies in emerging economies.
