Abstract

This study examines state control over insurance contracts. Its purpose is to prevent insurance companies from exploiting the weaker position of insured persons by drafting standard-form contracts that primarily serve the companies' own interests. These concerns require state intervention to regulate and supervise insurance activity, protect the rights of insured persons and beneficiaries under insurance contracts, and safeguard economic public order. To this end, the Algerian legislature has established specialized bodies and mechanisms designed to ensure effective control.
